Gloria by Chris Williams to be released on 1 February 2012 - 20 January

Gloria by Chris WilliamsEnergetic and full of contrasts, the Gloria demonstrates a wonderfully rhythmic portrayal of the text. Chris takes his singers on a breathtaking musical journey through all the changing moods of the piece, allowing them to let go and enjoy the exhilarating, vibrant rhythms of the faster sections and then to draw breath and relax back into the more calm and reflective passages. As with all Chris’ music, it is accessible and offers singers and audiences something a little different with its catchy rhythmic portrayal of the text.As a conductor it is easy to programme, sitting happily alongside a wide range of repertoire in both large and small scale concerts.  The work is also available with a piano duet version as an alternative to the full orchestra.

Fantastic response to English Philharmonia workshop with Exeter Philharmonic Choir - 24 September

It was a complete delight to be with the Exeter Philharmonic Choir and members of other local choirs at our workshop on Saturday. There was such a friendly welcoming atmosphere and lovely to see singers so obviously enjoying Chris William’s music. On only one days rehearsing, the choir managed to create a magical atmosphere during the Tsunami Requiem.

At the end you could have heard a pin drop! Singers commented on 'the fantastic music' describing it as evocative, moving and a joy to sing! The workshop included the Tsunami Requiem and a selection of Chris's carols from the Nowell! Nowell! publication. Singers also enjoyed the mix of new music and work on vocal technique. Read comments from some of the singers.
