Tsunami Requiem CD
Live recording of the Tsunami Requiem - which tells the story of the devestating tsunami in Asia in 20014, at London’s Royal Festival Hall in May 2008.
The performance also featured the world premiere of a powerful and moving new piece, Songs of the Coromandel Coast which was greeted by a standing ovation. It is a sequel to Williams’ Tsunami Requiem, and shows life three years on, using four contrasting sea shanties making this work powerful, moving and accessible.
Malabar with brass quintet provides a refreshing interlude from these two choral masterpieces.
Tenor - James Gilchrist. On stunning form, 'now unsurpassed among lyric tenors in sweetness and technical security', according to the Independent
